On June 18, 2025, the second quarterly meeting of the Reallabor 70 GW Offshore Wind took place in the historic premises of the Royal Stables in Hanover. The event, organized by ForWind Hannover, was the first face-to-face meeting of all project participants since the official start of the project in October 2024.
Almost all of the newly recruited researchers have now started work and all sub-projects are being implemented. Representatives from all five innovation areas presented the current status of their research:
-
Society
-
Maritime spatial planning
-
Life cycle management
-
System integration & aerodynamics
-
Marine impact
A central concern of the meeting was interdisciplinary exchange. In several breakout sessions, participants discussed cross-cutting issues arising from the various areas of innovation across teams. This resulted in initial joint reflections on, for example, how changing climate and weather conditions could affect future research and planning, the potential and challenges associated with the multiple use of offshore areas and how values and social goals can be better integrated into the transformation of the energy system.
The quarterly meeting made a significant contribution to strengthening mutual understanding, developing cross-institutional perspectives and making new joint issues visible.
