At the beginning of September, a group of doctoral students from the universities of Oldenburg and Hanover met at the WindLab for the first joint PhD workshop in the Reallabor 70 GW Offshore Wind. In future, doctoral students from TU Braunschweig who are conducting research in sub-projects of the living lab will also be part of this network.

The focus of the first meeting was on presentations of their own research projects and methods, discussions about common interfaces and new aspects of research. Particularly impressive: the Oldenburg ForWind doctoral students gave an insight into their experimental work in the turbulent wind tunnel.

There was also plenty of time to get to know each other: the barbecue evening was a great opportunity to deepen the exchange and get to know each other personally. On the second day, the participants were given an introduction to science communication. The group also decided to meet regularly in the future – both online and in person – in order to jointly shape the PhD experiences in the living lab and thus form a genuine, interdisciplinary network of early career researchers.
