TP II.1 Modeling for sustainable spatial and land use planning

Sub-project in Innovation Area II – Sustainable maritime spatial planning and use of the German Bight

In this sub-project, needs-based knowledge and recommendations for stakeholders involved in the planning and approval of the further expansion of offshore wind energy will be derived, which not only focus on wind farm efficiency and yields, but also directly include environmental impacts.

In the process, mesoscale modeling approaches for large-scale expansion are being further developed with regard to the resolution of wake effects and improvement of yield calculations.
