In October, the living lab 70GW offshore wind was launched with a kick-off meeting at the Hanse-Wissenschaftskolleg in Delmenhorst.
The living lab is part of the TEN.efzn research program and pools the expertise of seven research institutions in an interdisciplinary research approach. Engineering, natural sciences, social sciences, economics and business sciences work closely together to find innovative solutions to the challenges associated with the expansion of offshore wind energy. This interdisciplinary cooperation is crucial for tackling technical and social issues and ensuring that the expansion is sustainable and widely accepted by the public.
The Reallabor is divided into five innovation areas: social acceptance, maritime spatial planning, life-cycle management of offshore wind turbines, system integration and the impact on the marine environment. Particular emphasis is placed on the involvement of industry, administration and coastal communities in order to promote acceptance and address potential conflicts at an early stage.
