On Monday, September 29, ForWind – Center for Wind Energy Research hosted the 5th annual Wind Physics Symposium at the WindLab on the Wechloy Campus of the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg. In three sessions, ForWind researchers, young scientists and research partners from the Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy Systems and industry partners presented their current work and discussed current developments in wind energy research.
ForWind Professor Kerstin Avila kicked things off with an outlook on the first year of the joint research project Reallabor 70GW Offshore Wind, which is being carried out as part of the larger TEN.efzn (Transformation of Energy Systems in Lower Saxony, coordinated by efzn – Energy Research Center of Lower Saxony). The audience, consisting of wind energy students, researchers from other institutes and universities as well as numerous partners from industry, took the opportunity to gain further insights into ongoing projects such as the Living Lab and to discuss future ideas and opportunities.
